Safe signal acquisition and communication
The Safety Hub links automation and safety technology for the first time via IO-Link. This new I/O module is merely linked to the IO-Link Master. Because the system is open toward the system level, you can connect nearly any safety device.
By connecting the automation and safety technology, machine protection in one system is accomplished. This is because IO-Link supplies both sensor/actuator details and secure information. With Safety over IO-Link, you use the best of both worlds. And the integration of safety technology becomes easier than ever before.
The parameterization is done centrally via the controller. Safety-related information is sent directly through the master to the controller. Using Profisafe via Profinet guarantees secure communication with the controller.

Photoelectric danger zone protection for detecting people
BLG 4A safety light curtains from Balluff are photoelectric, electrosensitive protective equipment. They detect fingers, hands and other body parts and are used in work areas where machines present potential hazards. They stop hazardous movements in these areas.

Robust and reliable locking and guard locking devices
BID F101 safety switches from Balluff with a separate actuator provide protection for persons and machines. Together with a machine control system and a protective barrier, they safeguard access to the hazardous areas.
You can use our safety switches without guard locking, with mechanical guard locking or with electrical guard locking – completely according to your requirements.

Emergency stop device in compact housing for easy installation on various machines and systems
The emergency stop function must be available at all times for an automated system. As a supplementary protective measure, the emergency stop device initiates an immediate stop command whenever necessary. Therefore, it can be used for personal protection functions. The device must be visibly and easily accessible at any time to permit a stoppage in the event of an emergency.

Rugged and wear-free
Non-contact safety sensors are excellently suited for monitoring protective doors/covers or for reliably detecting positions – especially in environments in which contamination or dust can be expected.
The large operating range and the non-contact principle make these sensors insensitive to mechanical play, for example when doors settle or are guided inaccurately. The small size also provides you with more flexibility, allowing you to easily integrate the sensors.
